Prof. Javad Ghaderi receives a DURIP award to support his research on the COSMOS testbed

Prof. Javad Ghaderi

Prof. Javad Ghaderi from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University received a DURIP Award for the project “Real-Time Processing and Inference in Distributed Edge-Cloud Networks.” The $200K award will support the purchase and insertion of dedicated equipment (e.g., LiDARs and computing equipment) to support Prof. Ghaderiโ€™s research in the area of edge-cloud networks.

His research focuses on the design of networking architectures needed to implement ML algorithms. This DURIP will specifically focus on real-time object recognition and tracking in distributed edge-cloud networks.

The COSMOS team is excited to support this BYOD efforts.
